You guys, we seriously love weekends around here! I worked in retail before having Ollie and although I seriously loved my job, I forgot how amazing it was to have FULL weekends with the ones you love! Ever since we had Ollie, Adam and I have made it a priority to take one new adventure per week. Although this sometimes proves to be a bit challenging, we are always glad that we made the goal to begin with, and then continue to follow through each week! It's easy to get caught in a rut sometimes, and especially with the cooler weather coming up (which usually sends this momma under the covers for as long as possible), we want to make sure we keep up with this fun tradition!
So last weekend, we went to the pumpkin patch for the first time as a family! We had so much fun. my favorite part was seeing Ollie sitting with the pumpkins! He is about 5 and a half months old here, so he wasn't totally sitting on his own yet, but seeing him lean on the pumpkins for support was enough to send my proud little mama heart on overdrive! Not to mention how cute it is to just see him posing with them! Work it little child of mine. Can you tell this kid loves getting his picture taken or what?!
After playing around in the already-picked pumpkin area, we took a hayride to the pumpkin patch! We didn't have much time to look around but we managed to get a full nursing session in (because don't they always need to eat at the most convenient times?) and even take a couple of pictures of Ollie loving on the pumpkins once again.
We then took the hayride back to the main area and went walking through the corn maze. We love walking and hiking around pretty much anywhere!
Daddy was picking some dead stalks of corn off of the stalks and Ollie loved picking off the leaves and waving them around! P.S. I sure love seeing Adam carrying Ollie around in our ergo baby!
We may or may not have left the pumpkin patch with no pumpkins.... (yes, yes we did.) Why did this happen you ask? I'm not sure how that was possible but between nursing ollie the whole time we were supposed to be picking pumpkins and then just being too lazy to cart them back to the car along with everything else, we never got any! We figured we'd get some from a grocery store once we got home but we never did. We are super busy these days with remodeling our home and just...having our first baby, so we've skipped out on a couple of things! But I can say right now that were definitely getting and carving pumpkins next year! Well, until our next adventure!
